About Me

Eunhye wants to give power of life and meanings to the audience through her compositions and performance ranged from film music to jazz. world music.

Interested in musical cross-cultural communication, she insists on searching her cultural and musical identity (Korean music) in order to communicate with other music from different parts of the world, along with participating Global studies minor at Berklee.

She perceives that the drama in film music opens the doors for music in general to be a storytelling; rather unconventional structures and elements would be fine and musically work well if it fits the context.

One of the core values of jazz for her is communicative, improvisational qualities. In addition to that, brining and mixing different music rooted in different culture that reinforces the creativity is another. So jazz is valuable in this globalized world.

By integrating all the elements of film music, jazz, Western European traditions, Korean folk music, and all her musical and non-musical experiences, she ultimately desires to be “a fine musician”, who is honest, positive, contributive, sensitive to world problems and hidden beauty, and who can touch the deepest soul of people.

At the same time, she remembers the young musicians and children who have potentials but do not have opportunities of fine music education, which she has at Berklee. That is why she is also organizing a voluntary program of contemporary music education in her hometown, Anyang City for this summer, in conjunction with Center for Volunteers there.

She has studied with Vadim Neselovski, Yoon Chan Kwak, Ray Santisi, Ed Bedner, Josh Rosen, Franceska Tanksly and Leo Blanco.
