About Me

My name is Kailee Holly and I am a 7th semester student at Berklee College of Music. I am a vocalist pursuing a degree in Music Therapy.

Kailee was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Her musical career started at the age of ten when she began playing saxophone and singing.

When Kailee entered high school she decided to dedicate more of her time singing. She auditioned into her school’s top vocal jazz ensemble as well as the top jazz orchestra as the lead vocalist. While Kailee was in high school her school was awarded by the Grammy foundation for “Best Music Program in the US.”

Kailee began college at Western Michigan University in 2008. She was involved in Gold Company which is a world-renowned vocal jazz program. She was there for a year until she decided to pursue her passion for music therapy.

This is Kailee’s 7th semester studying at Berklee College of Music and she cannot be happier with her decision to transfer. So far at Berklee, Kailee has studied privately with Lisa Thorson. Her voice has grown and she has studied jazz more extensively than ever before.

Kailee thoroughly enjoys her work in the music therapy department which includes her practicum at the Kennedy Day School, where she works with students that have severe disabilities. Kailee also does volunteer work with Genuine Voices at Education Collaborative for a Greater Boston, where she teaches voice lessons to adolescents at-risk.

Currently, Kailee is focusing on her work within the music therapy department. She is the current president of the Music Therapy Club at Berklee and is highly involved in events within the department and community. She also works as a work study student in the music therapy office. Kailee helps to answer student questions as well as acclimate new students to the major. In addition to her many hours of work at the school Kailee has another part-time job working at the lansdowne pub in order to fund her education and academic advancement.
