Adrienne Cowan is a Metal vocalist, composer, and orchestrator, and the winner of the 2016 International Portuguese Music Award for Best Rock Performance, and the 2013 Lollapalooza-endowed scholarship to Berklee College of Music. She is best known for her work in Boston-based Symphonic metal band Seven Spires, where she draws from all flavors across and outside of the spectrum of metal and orchestral. She is also the vocalist of Brazillian-American hard rock/power metal act FirstBourne, and the vocalist of Italian power metal band Light & Shade. Additionally, she provides guest appearances with other artists including Swedish metallers Amaranthe.
Vocally, she cites her time grinding through local rock and metal scenes as a self-taught metal vocalist as the most influential ingredient in her signature pallet of Halford-esque screams, low growls, and powerful melodic passages. However, she studied various Operatic singing techniques with Kathleen Flynn at Berklee, and has also studied Speech Level Singing at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey, UK. She also studied classical singing with various teaches around the world throughout her middle and high school career, and has been a classically trained pianist from the age of 6.
In her very little spare time, she enjoys spending time with the people that she loves, drinking copious amounts of espresso, and eating sushi. Her grey soul thrives on poignant nostalgia, and she indulges this by reveling in art with a distantly romantic outlook on death and solo voyages, as well as Sagan’s contemplations of man’s place in the universe.
